About Us | The story behind Reds Removals

In 2012, Steve and I, Nicky Kenley, decided to start Reds Removals after our own experience of moving house left us disappointed with the level of customer service and value for money we received.

We knew that moving home can be a stressful experience, and we felt there was a better way of doing things. So, we decided to create a removal company built around the things we believed were most important: great customer service, reliability, professionalism and value for money.

That was the beginning of Reds Removals.

When we first started, our intention was simply to help people in our local area with smaller house moves and single-item removals. We never imagined just how quickly the business would grow.

Within months, we were receiving enquiries from homeowners and businesses of all sizes, with work taking us far beyond our local area and across the UK. As demand grew, so did our team, our services and our reputation.

Since 2012, Reds Removals has remained a family-run business, and we are incredibly proud of how far we have come.

Today, we provide domestic and commercial removals, packing services, furniture clearances and storage moves. Whether we are moving a single item or an entire home or business, we approach every job with the same level of care and professionalism.

Eco-Friendly Company

We have made every effort to be as Eco-Friendly as possible. where possible we will provide professionally recycled packaging. When carrying out clearance work we will donate and recycle up to 95% of goods from the premises to help us achieve our goals.

Moving Homes

We opened the business to move homes and although we have evolved since then, we still move more homes than anything else. Although every move is different there is not much our removal teams haven’t already encountered. From 300-year-old grandfather clocks to hot tubs, we have moved it all.

Our teams are fully trained and well experienced in all aspects of home moving, and you can expect them to be polite, courteous and helpful on the day you move. They move belongings with care, dismantle and assemble your furniture, disconnect and reconnect white goods and give their all on every move.

Moving businesses came naturally to us, and we provide the same professional service as the rest of our offerings. We work with a wide variety of clients across the North East of England and the UK, providing office moving, unloading shipping containers, commercial moving & clearances, dilapidation works and more.

Since our beginnings, we have moved 100’s of business around the UK with great care. We have handled the delivery of furniture to entire colleges, factories, hotels and office blocks and more. Reds Removals have managed national mergers and closures of over 40 separate branches for one company. As Well as great training, our staff and porters have gained vast amounts of experience due to the large projects we have managed.
