Top ten home removal tips
Moving home can often be one of the most stressful parts of our lives, not only are we moving our most prized possessions and in fact our entire lives to a new locations whether it be for work, for love or even for a change of scenery, what can be a stressful time doesn’t have to be, it can be pretty straight forward, even fun if you let it be, get yourself excited and follow these simple common sense tips and tricks from the Reds Removals team and your house removal will be a breeze.
1. Pack your home ahead of time
Make sure to pack your non-essential items well in advance of your home moving day, such as ornaments, china, electronics, photos and keepsakes, these are items that will be time-consuming to protect and pack, toiletries, cutlery and clothing should be left a for the last few days ready for your removal day.
2. Have your home packing supplies ready
When it comes to moving home the one thing people overlook is what they are going to be packing their whole lives in removal boxes. When picking out your packing supplies, you should choose 2-3 box sizes, wardrobe boxes, bubble wrap, foam sheets, parcel tape, sticky labels, marker pens and brown packing paper. Never hurt to be ready right?
3. Create a bug out bag (overnight bag) for each family member
On the day of your home removal, and most probably for a few days after, you will be saying “where’s this?” “where’s that?” To make things easier, try knocking up a bug out bag for your family members with all their most needed things such as medicines, glasses, some cutlery, drinks, spare change of clothes and really the list is endless, anything you may need at the drop of a hat.
4. Packing your home
When moving home the time comes to pack your belongings, there your whole life, so pack them with care using all available packing supplies, make sure boxes are not overfilled or too heavy and the lids close fully without bulging, use supplied foam or bubble wrap to wrap fragile objects. You can label boxes with contents, locations and whether their fragile, draws and wardrobes should also be packed into boxes, this will make sure you received the safest and efficient house removal service possible.
5. Don’t forget your shed/ garage/loft spaces

6. Utilities and entertainment

7. Are you taking a large number of plants?
